Terms of Use

Last updated: 8 June 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the SCADO mobile app ("SCADO"). By installing or using SCADO you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Important: food-safety disclaimer

SCADO is an organizational aid that helps you keep track of dates you enter. SCADO does not determine whether any food is safe to eat and is not medical, health, nutritional, or food-safety advice. Always rely on your own judgment, the product label, and the manufacturer's guidance. When in doubt, throw it out.

License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use SCADO on devices you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms and the rules of the app store you downloaded it from.

Subscriptions, trial, and billing

  • SCADO offers a 14-day free trial. After the trial, full functionality requires a Premium subscription.
  • The price and billing period are shown in the app in your local currency, taken from the App Store or Google Play. Premium is an auto-renewing subscription billed to your store account.
  • Unless cancelled, the subscription renews automatically at the end of each period. You can manage or cancel it at any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period.
  • Trial eligibility and billing are determined by the store, which is the source of truth. Eligibility is not based on the device clock, reinstalling, or clearing app data.
  • If your subscription lapses, SCADO enters a locked state. Your data is preserved and you can still export or delete it; restoring or renewing Premium unlocks the app with your data intact.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse SCADO, interfere with its operation, or attempt to circumvent the store billing system.

Intellectual property

SCADO, its name, and its content (excluding third-party data) are owned by us or our licensors. Product catalogue data is provided by Open Food Facts under the ODbL license.

No warranty

SCADO is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the app will be error-free or that recognition (barcode or date) will always be accurate.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from reliance on the app to determine food safety. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by law.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms; the "Last updated" date will change accordingly. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Italy and the European Union, without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rights in your country of residence.
